  1. Make a List & Prioritize: Before embarking on your packing journey, take a few minutes to make a comprehensive list of essential items. Consider the purpose of your trip, the duration, and the climate at your destination. Prioritize the must-haves and eliminate unnecessary items that can be easily replaced or bought at your destination.

  2. Choose the Right Suitcase: Invest in a lightweight, durable, and size-appropriate carry-on suitcase. Opt for a soft-shell suitcase as it allows for greater flexibility when it comes to fitting items in and reduces the overall weight. Familiarize yourself with your airline's carry-on size restrictions to ensure your suitcase complies with their guidelines. Check out my favorite carry-on - the Feilario Aluminium Hardside Expandable Carry-On has spinner wheels, a built-in TSA lock, Cup Holder, USB Port and even an Phone Holder. Comes in 18in/20in/24in sizes. This one really has it all!

  3. Roll, Don't Fold: One of the most effective space-saving techniques is to roll your clothes instead of folding them. Not only does rolling minimize wrinkles, but it also saves space by utilizing every nook and cranny within your suitcase. Place heavier or bulkier items at the bottom and fill gaps with smaller rolled items.

  4. Utilize Packing Cubes: Packing cubes are a game-changer for maximizing space and keeping your belongings organized. Sort your clothing items into packing cubes based on categories (example - tops, bottoms, undergarments) or outfits. Not only will this save space, but it will also make it easier to locate specific items without disturbing the entire suitcase. I use this set!

  5. Master the Art of Layering: Layering is not just for clothing; it can be applied to packing as well. Start by placing a layer of shoes along the bottom edges of the suitcase, filling them with small items like socks or toiletries. Then layer clothing items on top, alternating between rolled and flat items. Place delicate items or wrinkle-prone clothing towards the top, sandwiched between sturdier garments.

  6. Minimize Toiletries: Toiletries can quickly consume precious space in your suitcase. Opt for travel-sized containers or invest in reusable, leak-proof travel bottles. Consider whether your accommodations will provide basic toiletries to reduce the amount you need to pack. Additionally, embrace multi-purpose products like a combined shampoo and conditioner or a tinted moisturizer with SPF.

  7. Maximize Personal Item Allowance: In addition to your carry-on suitcase, most airlines allow a personal item like a small backpack or handbag. Take advantage of this extra space by packing items that won't fit in your suitcase, such as your laptop, camera, or a change of clothes.

  8. Dress Smart: Wearing your bulkier clothing items, such as a jacket or boots, while traveling can save space inside your suitcase. Layering your clothing for the journey not only keeps you comfortable but also frees up additional packing space.

Mastering the art of efficient packing and fitting everything into a carry-on suitcase is a skill that can simplify your travels and save you time and money. By following these tips on how to fit everything in one carry-on suitcase and you can bid farewell to the stress of overpacking and embrace the freedom and convenience of traveling light.

Happy packing and travels!
